Course Description

Recently, the national "14th Five-Year Plan," the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area construction, and the Hong Kong Chief Executive's 2021 Policy Address have emphasized building Hong Kong into a major international legal and dispute resolution service center in the Asia-Pacific region. Additionally, the significant "United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation" has been implemented in recent years. Furthermore, the Hong Kong SAR government has signed an arrangement to establish an International Mediation Institute Preparatory Office in Hong Kong, highlighting the high recognition of mediation locally, in the mainland, and internationally, as well as the increasing demand for professional mediators. The mediation profession is one of Hong Kong's competitive advantages with a promising development outlook.

Aim of the Course

  1. Obtain professional mediator qualifications to enhance personal competitive advantage and start a second career.

Eligibility Tertiary education level or above. Students are required to submit a copy of their academic qualifications during enrollment.
Terms and Conditions A. Enrollment requires completion of the online applcation and payment before the application deadline. Confirmation will be notified by email within 2 days after the application deadline.

B. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible applicants.

C. If an applicant does not receive an email confirmation from the Secretariat within 2 days after the application deadline, his/ her name will be wait-listed. His/ her submitted cheque will be voided subsequently by the Secretariat if he/ she has not been assigned a place in the course or if his/ her course fee was paid by bank transfer, the refund will be made by cheque.

D. Applicants must sign in and sign out for record. Applicants who are late or leave earlier for more than 15 minutes in each session will not be qualified for HKMC CPD points.

E. Fees are non-refundable under any circumstances unless the course is full or cancelled, regardless of whether the applicant attends the classes or not.

F. If typhoon signal no. 8 or above or black rainstorm warning signals is hoisted and not lowered by 2 hours before the start time, the lesson will be postponed or cancelled. Rescheduled date/ time/ venue will be announced in due course.

F. In case of any disputes, the Academy of International Dispute Resolution & Professional Negotiation reserves the right to make final decisions.
